Penny was a nine-month-old pitbull that was abandoned in the dead of winter 2018. She was brought to CGHS/SPCA in deplorable condition. It was discovered she had untreated mange that was so pervasive that she lost her hair and had secondary infections in her skin. Her life was clearly in jeopardy. For weeks, the CGHS/SPCA staff worked diligently on her recuperation. Adoption counselors hand-picked the perfect home for Penny…and now, as you can see, her new owners have done an amazing job completing her rehabilitation. Her former owner was convicted and is pending sentencing.

We deeply appreciated the outpouring of support from the community, which helped significantly with the cost of Penny’s medical treatments.

Thank you to the staff of the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA and her wonderful new family for a job well done!
